ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To study clinical effect of argatroban for progressive stroke patients of different cerebral ischemic ranges. METHODS:A total of 116 progressive stroke patients selected from neurology department of our hospital during Feb. 2015-May 2016 were divided into anterior circulation (ischemia) group (n=60),posterior circulation (ischemia) group (n=50) and lacunar(cerebral infarction)group(n=6)according to cerebral ischemic ranges. They all received routine treatment combined with argatroban, and given continuous intravenous infusion of argatroban 60 mg/d on the day and 2nd day of disease aggravation, and then continuous intravenous infusion of argatroban 5th day after relieving,3 h/time,bid,7 d as a treatment course. NIHSS scores, modified RANKIN (mRS) scores,APTT and ADR were compared among 3 groups. RESULTS:Forteen days after treat-ment,NIHSS scores and mRS scores of 3 groups were decreased significantly compared to before treatment, with statistical signifi-cance (P0.05). No obvious ADR was found in 3 groups. CONCLUSIONS:Argatroban shows significant therapeutic efficacy for progressive stroke of different ischemic ranges with good safety;especially for the patients with anterior circulation ischemics stroke, the effect is quick and anticoagulant effect is significant.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate two different MRI techniques , enhanced 3D STIR SPACE and unidirectionally-encoded DWIBS MR Neurography in visualizing the brachial plexus. Methods Twenty healthy volunteers underwent MR scanning by the procedures of unidirectionally -encoded DWIBS and enhanced 3D STIR SPACE sequence of the brachial plexus.Original images were reconstructed with coronal maximum intensity projection ( MIP ).The image quality was assessed by comparing the visualization of various parts of the brachial plexus and the suppression ratio of image background. The degree of visualization was compared via χ2-test of paired data , and comparison of background suppression scores was performed using a nonparametric Wilcoxon signed rank sum test. Results The successful rate of visualizing the brachial plexus supraclavicular section ( C5-T1 ) was 84% ( 167/200 ) and 99% ( 198/200 ) , respectively, for the DWIBS and enhanced 3D STIR SPACE, and the rate for the infraclavicular section was 33%( 13/40 ) and 95% ( 38/40 ).The differences between these two techniques were statistically significant (χ2 value was 28.18 and 31.15 respectively, P <0.01).In all images, the scores of grade (Ⅰ-Ⅳ) of background suppression were 0, 0, 4 and 16 for unidirectionally-encoded DWIBS, respectively;while they were 15, 4, 1 and 0 for enhanced 3D STIR SPACE.There was significant difference between the two techniques ( Z =3.96,P <0.01).Conclusions High-quality MR neurography of the brachial plexus can be obtained using the enhanced 3D STIR SPACE sequence. It offers a complete anatomical coverage of the brachial plexus , and thus demonstrates a better capacity in depicting the anatomy of brachial plexus as compared with the unidirectionally-encoded DWIBS.

ABSTRACT

The protective effect of Astragalus saponins or Astragalus mongholicus bunge on the micro -model of cultured new born rat heart cells infected with Coxsackie B, virus was observed. After inoculation with 1000 TCID Coxsackie B, virus, the cardiac enzyme lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH) was much lower in the Astragalus saponins or Astragalus mongholiais bunge treated groups than in those untreated groups, but the synthesis rate of DNA was higher. Virus titer in the supernatant of cultures was detected 48 h after virus challenge. The virus titer of the Astragalus saponins (Lg 3.78 TCID) or the Astragalus mongholiais bunge (Lg 4.33 TCID50) treated groups was lower than in those untreated groups (Lg 5.78 TCID50). These results show that the Astragalus saponins may be a useful drug in treatment of acute viral myocarditis.

ABSTRACT

Diastolic transmitral blood flow was measured by Doppler echocardiography in 66 patients with hypertension and 33 normal persons. The results showed that isovolumic ventricular relaxation time and peak. A velocity increased and E/A ratio decreased significantly in hypertensive patients without left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy. Patients with LV hypertrophy had not only significant change of these parameters, but also significant decrease of peak E velocity and deceleration of E velocity. Left atria was larger in hypertensive patients, especially in those with LV hypertrophy. It is suggested that LV diastolic dysfunction in patients with hypertension may occur before the development of LV hypertrophy, and LV hypertrophy may worsen the diastolic dysfunction.

ABSTRACT

Taking Coxsackie B3 virus cDNA labelled by Biotin as detecting probes and 25 kinds of standard enteroviruses as detected viusr, a spot nucleic acid hybridization method has been established to detect enterovirus RNA gene. The method has simple operation and its sensitivity is 50-80 TCID50 spot. Reagent is safe and stable, and may be stored for long period. pCBHⅢ/35.51 probe used has wider hibridization spectrum to enteroviruses; pCBⅢ/29 only reacts with RNA of Coxsackie B3 virus in strict condition. Consequently, the hybridization character which these probes possess is suitable to determining enlerovirus in clinical samples.

ABSTRACT

Forty two patients with coronary artery disease were studied by SPECT and planar methods with dipyridamoloe and rest Tc 99m-MIBI myocardial perfusion imaging. For SPECT, the sensitivity for identification of patients with coronary artery disease was 91%, and for planar methods, the sensitivity was 70%. Comparing dipyridamole with rest images, three kinds of defects were presented (persistent defect, reversible defect and defect in the rest imaging reduced in the dipyridamole imaging). The correlation between SPECT and planar methods was better than between SPECT and ECG. The agreement was 86% for the former and 78% for the latter. There were no serious side effects in the dipyridamole test.

ABSTRACT

The protective effect of silybin on the micro-model of Coxsackie B5 virus infected new born rat heart cell culture was observed. After inoculation with 400TCID Coxsackie B5 virus, the cardiac enzyme s-lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH) and glutamic oxaloacctic transaminase (GOT) were much lower in the silybin-treated groups than in those groups of untreated, but the synthesis rate of DNA was higher. Virus titer in the supernatant of cultures was detected 96 h after virus challenge. The virus titer (Lg 3. 95 TCID50) of the silybin-treated was lower than in that of untreated groups (Lg 6. 95 TCID50). These results suggest that silybin may be a useful drug in treatment of acute viral myocarditis.

ABSTRACT

The level of interferon (IFN) in serum and homogenized cardiac tissue, and the activity of natural killer cells in Coxsackievirus B3 induced myocarditis in BALB/c mice were determined. NK cell cytolytic activity and IFN titers peaked on day 3~ 7 postinoculation (p.i.) and then declined. Virus titers in heart tissue reached a maximum on day 7 p.i. and then declined. These results suggest that the increase of NK cell activity and IFN titers provides some protection against Cox B, induced myocarditis by limiting virus replication in heart tissue.

ABSTRACT

We studied the effects of the selective thromboxane synthetase inhibitor, dazoxiben (UK-37 248), on the reperfusion arrhythmias induced by ischemia-reperfusion in rats. The results indicated that the administration of dazoxiben (2.5 mg/kg i.v.) 15 min prior to coronary occlusion significantly decreased the incidence of ventricular fibrillation induced by 5 inin ischemia and reperfusion from 11/13 in control to 4/13 in drug-treated (P

ABSTRACT

The present study investigated the effect of BN50739, a new PAF antagonist, on the early reperfusion-induced arrhythmia in anesthetized SD rats, and by this to elucidate the role of PAF in the mechanism of early reperfusion-induced arrhythmia. The results indicated that the BN50739 group had lower incidences of premature ventricular contraction (PVQ, ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) during reperfusion than the control group (58.3% vs 66.7%, 50% vs 77.8%, and 16.7% vs 88.9%). But only VF incidence had a significant difference. Also the BN50739 group had shorter duration of VT+VF and of total arrhythmias than control group (58.8+171.9 vs 296.4+291.4, and 76.4+173.9 vs 361.8 + 286.5, P
